We were a group of 6 friends visiting Uzbekistan as independent travellers. Before departure, we did not know much about the country, apart from the fact that it had been part of Soviet Union and, more important than that, it had been on the Silk Road several centuries ago. Samarkand and Bukhara were magic words that triggered our imagination. So, we were eager to go there and found out how was it. That was how it started.
